Grambling's wide receivers will absolutely be the strength for the 2006 version of the Tigers. Henry Tolbert and Clyde Edwards last season both amassed over 1,000 yards receiving. Both players averaged 18.8 yards per catch, over 50 receptions, and also had at least 10 touchdown catches. However, Tiger fans these aren't the only names to remember. Expectations are huge for Georgia Tech transfer LaKeldric Bridges this season. Bridges who is as fast as they come, LITERALLY, will be expected to use his speed to stretch defenses which should open up lanes for Tim Abney. Abney, who converted to TE last season because of a nagging groin injury, had six touchdown receptions in 2005. Abney is a big wide receiver (6-1 210) who can run over defenders and has enough speed to separate in the open field. Reginal Jackson and Nick Lewis are expected to provide some serious depth to that position for the Tigers. With all this speed and strength one thing is obvious in 2006, this group will show why it’s named quick six on the score board.
